Coffee

I'm working on some challenges this morning and I came up with this card for the current CASology challenge - Washi. I used Washi tape to decorate the coozie on my coffee cup!

I had to tilt the card a little in the photo so the sentiment would show up better. I heat embossed it in gold to give it a little shine, but it's hard to capture in pictures. The rest of the card is pretty straight forward. I used a die to create my coffee cup and covered a square in the washi tape before I die cut the coozie from it. I added some drips and dribbles with my stamps and then popped the cup up with some foam tape for dimension.

I'm also adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

The Challenge 66

It's a new week, so that means another new challenge over at The Challenge blog! Since it's the fourth week, it's a masculine inspiration week!

I decided to completely immerse myself in the nautical theme this week and create a fun retirement card.

I started out by stamping an ombre wave piece by repeat stamping with a single image in three different ink colors. I trimmed down the piece and then fussy cut the top edge to keep the wavy feeling. I stamped and cut the ship image as well as the moon (I used silver embossing powder for a fun texture and look). I arranged my pieces where I wanted them on the card and then used my Misti to stamp the sentiment in Versamark and heat set it with white embossing powder. Then I was able to adhere all of my pieces (yes, I know the wave panel is a little wonky, but I wasn't going to start over!). The wave panel and the ship are adhered with foam tape, but the moon is was adhered directly to the base.

Playing Catch-Up

Because I was down for so many days, I'm back with a major update today. 3 cards for 3 separate challenges! Today was productive!

First up is for the Lawnscaping Challenge - Sweets.

I combined a total of 4 stamp sets for this sucker! It involved a ton of masking and coloring, but not much else. I love these simple cards that have huge impact. I added some glossy accents to the crab and the hermit crab's shell. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the cookie and the frosting on the cupcake. I can't wait to send this to my uncle for his birthday next week!

Next up is my entry to the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Anything Goes.

I used one of my favorite sets for this card, but I guess it's been discontinued because it was missing when I searched the site for it. Bummer. I simply stamped the lemon bars on a small panel along with the sentiment and then colored them with my copics. I finished them by adding a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella to the lemon part of the bar. I repeat stamped the background panel with the lemon stamp and then pieced everything together. I finished it off by adding a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

And finally, my entry to the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Birthday.

I used my Misti to position all the stamps the way I wanted them on the panel and then stamped everything at once. (I love my Misti!) I kept everything simple and colored the images with my copics. I need something mailable, so I left off any embellishments in favor of keeping it flat. I know the sentiment seems generic, but I made it with my grandmother in mind, so I wanted something that looked a little classier than my normal whimsical style. I'll personalize the greeting inside and make it more geared toward her birthday.

Thanks for bearing with me through this huge post! The Supplies for each card are listed below in case you want to check them out!
